Space is a wonderful charity that is based in Newry. It provides help to families, the elderly and the sick. Space provides a range of services for people who need assistance.
SPACE provides help for families going through a crisis – illness, marriage breakdown or behavioural issues.
They also provide a service where they help elderly people get transport to attend medical appointments to hospitals in Belfast, Craigavon and Dungannon.
SPACE has 5 family support workers who work directly with the individuals involved.
There is a comfort zone every Wednesday from 11 -1pm in Warrenpoint were people can get together for a cuppa and be isolated in loneliness.
SPACE was formerly called South Down Family Health Initiative and originated in Warrenpoint in 2003.
They run a social enterprise with a charity shop called Love Your Space based in Monaghan Street in Newry with items for sale.
